Amy Taravella is a highly accomplished professional in the fields of dance and Pilates. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from The Florida State University, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance, and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Jacksonville University.

Teaching and Coaching Experience

Amy was a teacher of ballet and contemporary dance technique, dance kinesiology, and dance history on the university level, high school level, and in her private studio and professional modern dance company. She has over twelve years of experience as a group exercise instructor, teaching a variety of classes such as Mat Pilates and STRIKE! (Life Time Fitness), Zumba, Aquatic Exercise, Piloxing S.S.P., and Piloxing Knockout. As a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, she coached over four hundred clients of all ages and fitness levels. To improve her services, Amy sought additional expertise in corrective exercise, injury prevention, and the promotion of optimal movement. She found Pilates - the most efficient exercise method for alignment correction, pain free training, uniform strength development, and improved pulmonary function as it relates to moving with vitality in both exercise and in life’s daily activities.

Pilates Training

Amy received her first Comprehensive 500 Hour Teacher Training Diploma from Core Dynamics Pilates, Inc., Santa Fe in 2016. In 2020 she enrolled in her second, more intensely demanding comprehensive teacher training program through The Pilates Center (TPC), Boulder, Colorado. She received her diploma from the Advanced Teacher Training Program in February 2022, a program overseen and regulated by the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Private Occupational School Board. Amy found herself inspired by TPC’s outstanding educators, whose dedication and passion for helping students thrive hugely impressed her. The rigorous and demanding nature of the program challenged her physically, mentally, and emotionally. Through all the intense challenges, her mentors provided unwavering support, alternative pathways to success, and instilled in her the knowing that love and patience are at the heart of overcoming all obstacles. Amy is also proud to be a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT).

Her own words

I wish to be of service to others helping them become healthier and happier in their lives. I am enormously proud to teach the Classical Pilates method of TPC, Boulder, CO in my studio. This method of Pilates is enormous in scale and efficacy and transcends the exercises. It would be my honor to share with you the vastness and wonder of all things Pilates.
